Discussing a press release from Mayfair Electronics Inc.

"Guest has joined," I read from my GoogleTalk chat. Who is it? Moments later the Guest starts writing...I still don't know nothing about the writer. GoogleTalk always says to be cautious with unidentified writers. I decided to respond...

Guest: Helge, Good morning from the USA. We have some Press Release we need your help posting and circulating through the web, would that be possible? Sent October 15, 2008 3:57 PM on Thursday.

Guest: This is Prince K. Nana, Chairman and CEO of Mayfair Electronics Inc. We spoke on the Facebook sometime back. We have a press release we would like for you to post and circulate throughout the web. Its about LG Electronics, Inc copying our IP (Intellectual Property) of our product "Power-Up 24/7." They are not trying to licensing it yet, they promise innovation by stealing it from other companies. Sent at 4:06 PM on Thursday.

me: Why do you ask me to distribute? Sent at 4:07 PM on Thursday. [I recognize that we spoke or exchanged notes on Facebook. We're distant Facebook friends. Ok, let's continue]

Guest: Because we need your help and assistance to spread the world, due to the fact that your blog is recognized worldwide, and also to stop big companies from stealing other companies creativity, hard work, and innovations for we can change the economical crises we face in the world as human beings with respect and integrity.

me: I will be away for an hour, write more information. [I had to go to Sotkamo "downtown" for shopping. We were expecting visitors from southern Finland. I decided to return to this GoogleTalk after our guests left. They did that yesterday. I got time to analyze the GoogleTalk today and decided to proceed with a blog posting].

Guest: Ok, I will post all the information in this chat right now you can then copy it and link it to Mayfair Electronics Inc website.

me: Very good!

Guest: LG Decoy: The Story of the Big Fish Trying to Eat the Small Fish Originality and Innovation is what Big Business Promises; How far will it go to claim its stake over copied IP Portfolio of an emerging tech company as its own? WOODBRIDGE, VA. (October 15, 2008) – Mayfair Electronics Inc announced today that the buzz over the new LG phone, the “Decoy” is a copied version of its own IP product, the “Power-Up 24/7,” which was filed with the USPTO on March 5, 2007 has been ‘patent pending’ for over 18 months. Mayfair claims that after filing for its patent on the “Power-Up 24/7,” a modified cell phone with a charger attachment, it began the marketing process of the product as needed under patent law to spark interest for licensing by tech companies in the industry such as LG; Motorola; Samsung; Nokia; RIM; and Apple. Through such process of marketing and submitting materials to the listed corporations above for its “Power-Up 24/7” and “MAYFAIR” laptop product, Mayfair received enormous feedback from major tech companies showing interest in the products, but unwilling to license the IP Property to use it.

me: The text continues...

Guest: After several phones call, email, and letters for an ongoing period of about 8 months with some well established companies, they declined their interest in working with Mayfair to advance innovative products as they promises continuously, but are willing to undercut Mayfair and claim fame for itself by copying and attempting to modify the IP as it own; exactly what Mayfair claims LG Electronics Inc has done with its new release phone with Bluetooth attachment, the “Decoy.”

“Our decision to focus on telecommunication and multimedia products based on original IP gives the company a clear direction into the future. Whether we develop these products on our own, or through a partnership effort by licensing, our expertise in envisioning, developing and launching new IPs helps tremendously. here is the rest...

“Our decision to focus on telecommunication and multimedia products based on original IP gives the company a clear direction into the future. Whether we develop these products on our own, or through a partnership effort by licensing, our expertise in envisioning, developing and launching new IPs helps tremendously. We have leaped ahead of competitors, and we’ve got the creative sparks and originality for advancing innovative products in the industry,” said Prince K. Nana, CEO of Mayfair Electronics Inc and continued: “We work hard to develop products that will enhance and “make life easier” for consumers in the market place, while creating jobs for individuals in a highly skilled industry, to promote a healthy and long term economic sustainability for the future.”

LG Electronics constantly preaches about advancing innovation, yet lacks originality and approach innovation with stagnancy. Feud by greed and money, LG undermines the hard work, time, creativity, and value of human life and efforts made to make a difference in our communities and the world, as it pursues to copy Mayfair’s IP (Intellectual Property) product portfolios’ as their own. This is truly a criminal act on LG’s behalf, and its integrity and promises of innovation advancement is very questionable. Sent at 4:12 PM on Thursday.

me: I'll read it. I need to go out for shopping. We expect long distance visitors today. Will have more time to respond and react tomorrow. See you later. You could send an email with the complete story Sent at 4:18 PM on Thursday. Br Helge.

Guest: Please email me at (nana at mayfairelectronics.com) and we will send you the complete story. Have a wonderful day and talk to you later. Sent at 4:25 PM on Thursday.

GoogleTalk informs: "You are chatting with an unidentified user. Be careful what you discuss." [I copy the whole storyline here with my own comments to have a proper starting point. I think this could evolve to something that takes a much longer time and has to involve other bloggers and parties].

me: Prince K. Nana, CEO of Mayfair Electronics Inc., identified himself during the discussion and I'll send and email about this first posting. I've no idea how many people / fellow bloggers will be reading this blog. I also need more information about the details. This is however an opening statement. If we want to get any results there has to be many more people writing about it.

Helge: I see that this could be an interesting "David against Goliath" story. First, I need more facts about what has happened. Maybe other bloggers could continue to watch the evolution. Is there any chance to get some comments or written information from LG? Did you exchange letters or emails?
