Remote Visual Collaboration

Bread and Butter

I sketched ideas about remote visual collaboration while we traveled in Italy in the spring 2006.

Mobile file distribution was becoming possible but the roaming costs in Europe restricted intelligent use of mobile devices.

Today, your virtual office moves with you in the pocket. There are tons of things you can do efficiently with smart phones.

I'm in the process of figuring out new ways of doing on-site reporting and collaboration with mobile tools. I think mobility, flexibility and agility will have a tremendeous impact of the effectiveness of an organization after the recession.

Some bullet points from that time:

  • get active
  • do stuff on the road
  • visual file distribution isn't expensive anymore
  • remote team management is easier than ever
  • podcasting and webcasting while on the move is possible
