Digital Villages as a process

It has taken me six to ten years to integrate and complete some of the central ideas leading to the evolution of Digital Villages.

• Micro movies as communication tools
• Mobile computing
• Social media on a local level
• Hyper locality
  
• Networking and collaboration
• Open innovation
• Making of a better ubiquitous
  

Some basic observations were right from the beginning. Quite a few things still require intelligent thought and constructive work to be completed.

The building industry has not yet grasped the idea. Distance work and networked collaboration are reality today but the true potential has not been achieved.

There is still a long way to go on a national level and even more on a global scale.

But we're moving in the right direction.
