Tekes boosts the development of the Finnish information society by technological means and through innovation. That sounds great. What does it mean in practice?
Tekes - the Finnish Funding agency for Technology and Innovation is the main public funding organisation fore research and development (R&D) in Finland. Tekes funds industrial projects as well ass projects in research organisations, and especially promotes innovative, risk-intensive projects (Eur 469 million in 2007). Tekes offers partners from abroad a gateway to the key technology players in Finland
Tekes strategy focus ares, People - Economy - Environment, outline future priorities for innovation in Finland.
Tekes intends to encourage innovation innovation in areas defined on the basis of clear user need - in fields such as ICT, health and wellbeing, business models and services.
