Digitalization of Fast Fresh Flow

The Digitalization of Forestry Operations has been taking long steps from conceptual design to real-time value chain management from the stub to pulp, paper, and sawn goods mill. We rented this house 1989 and used to live there for two years, I think. There is a garage behind the house at right.  Our office was at Centre Commercial in Ammerschwihr.

It was a great time for all of us, but the economical crisis in Finland, 1992, forced us to change our plans and return back for a while. Things started to improve a year later and we continued to work at different locations in France until the end of 1997.

Colmar, Alsace, France

We decided to dig into our past. Colmar is a part of it. We’re also looking for information concerning people in other locations in Alsace.

Colmar (French: Colmar, pronounced: [kɔlmaʁ]; Alsatian: Colmer [ˈkolməʁ]; German between 1871–1918 and 1940–1945: Kolmar) is the third-largest commune of the Alsace region in north-eastern France. It is the seat of the prefecture of the Haut-Rhin department and the Arrondissement of Colmar.

The town is situated along the Alsatian Wine Route and considers itself to be the "Capital of Alsatian Wine" (capitale des vins d'Alsace). The city is renowned for its well preserved old town, its numerous architectural landmarks and its museums, among which is the Unterlinden Museum with the Isenheim Altarpiece.

We're looking for systems integrators and individual specialists in the field of building automation measurement technology. The measurement and control devices designed and manufactured by our supplier are modern, installation friendly and of good quality. Technical innovations of our products have become a standard for the measurement devices.

Our first goal is to find a country and or area manager with good understanding of the Greater Paris area building automation market and the ability to work with local, regional and national systems integrators.

The products have become familiar to the building automation professionals for the last 20 years. Modern building, increase of automation, national and European standards have raised the demand of necessary measurements.

The active product development and co-operation with customers has created an extensive product family to the growing needs of the building automation market. Technical design, fastening and installation solutions and the multiple measurement ranges of the transmitters ease and speed up the commissioning of our products.

Transatlantic Poltics

I've been following the election in France. Who is going to win? Is the next president a man or a woman? Are they voting for a right wing male president or a woman representing the leftists in France? The second round is all about Ms. Royal or Mr. Sarkozy. The hard-liner Sarkozy did win the first round with a margin. The second round is going to be tight. There is not a clear idea about the final outcome.

I was reading the blog Transtlantic Politics and according to an FT-poll , "the Brits, Germans, Italians and Spaniards are even more Socialist than the French - or maybe they just wish them 'well'. All of these groups support Ms. Segolene Royal from Socialist Party over the current front-runner from the center-right, Nicolas Sarkozy."

According to The Economist, Sarkozy seems to be the only chance of reform France has left:

"Mr Sarkozy is the only candidate who seems both to have understood the urgency of reform and to have the abrasiveness to stand a chance of carrying it out. A political outsider, who fought his way to the top of the Gaullist party through hard work and cunning, he remains fearless in the face of opposition. Anticipating resistance, his advisers are already working on a draft of the law on minimum service, so as to curb the effectiveness of strikes."
