New intelligent business possibilities in the mining industry

We’re living in Sotkamo since August 1, 2010 after years and years almost all over the globe and looking for new opportunities in the field of mining, energy and environmental business operations.

This is a small world and with intelligent use of specialized network operations we’ve the possibility to reach out and build bout business intelligence and customer relationships all over the globe with low cost and great accuracy. We can also support B2B operations of specialized task forces looking for F2F negotiations.

Kick-off meeting - Date: 04.03.2008 - Place: Fjord

• The event will be held on the 10th of May 2008 (Saturday) from 10AM to 7PM.
• Estimated number of attendants: 50
• List of potential sponsors to be created
• Communication channels: Jaiku channel for communications, this wiki for documentation
• Registration in the Wiki. Just name required
• Event adverts: Jaiku (Helsinki Channel and other channels), Facebook, other blogs, pingstate.nu
• Logo, banners, badge and other visual design. > Action point for Jani to design those
• Security and privacy can be an issue if the event is held in the premises of Fjord. > Action point to identify which are the requirements as soon as possible.
• Registration: in advance in the Wiki and the day of the event at the entrance
• Fjord will provide premises and the internet connection (limited to 60-70 people).

What is a BarCamp?

A Bar Camp is an unconference where people interested in a wide range of technologies come together to teach and learn. Unfamiliar with the un-conference format? Here's the idea in a nutshell. Rather than having scheduled speakers, everyone pitches sessions the morning of the BarCamp. Those sessions are put on a schedule, and lots of little groups form for intense group learning. Everyone is expected to teach, to talk, to participate. Yeah, its different from a regular conference - but it works!

The idea of an unconference came together when people realized the best times they were having at conferences were the times between sessions - where people with like interests could meet ad hoc. The goal of BarCamp is to facilitate this type of interaction for an entire day. We supply the food, the space, the wireless, the projectors - you show up to teach and learn. BarCamp

BarCamps are a new way to organize geeks conferences. 160 geeks descended on Red Hat headquarters this July for an educational experience - but they entered the event without a schedule, a list of sessions, or an admission fee. Red Hat provided the space. Organizers and participants came bearing routers and other donated items. This was BarCamp, and they were counting on their companions to bring the expertise that would turn this gathering into a conference. Or unconference, as they say. Grassroots organization isn't just for politics anymore. Grassroots is going for tech solutions today. I've been listening to podcasts from BarCamps in Bangalore India and events in USA. There have been several in US. We have planned to organize one in Finland as well. I hope to get the time to motivate some of my friends to take part in the actions needed. I think, we could be ready to start the planning of an event in October. Maybe we should target for a very cold mid-winter event somewhere where the temperature is ways down below zero.
